PCS consists of hardware such as IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor), PCB board (Printed Circuit Board), wires and cables, and can be divided into single camera and triple camera.
PCS can be divided into three types based on power: high-frequency isolation, power frequency isolation, and non isolation. Single camera and three-phase PCS below 20KW use high-frequency isolation, 50KW to 250KW use power frequency isolation, and 500KW and above use non isolation.
PCS technical parameters only need to consider system voltage, power factor, switching time, peak power, etc. These parameters have a significant impact on the functionality of the energy storage system.
The working modes of PCS mainly include grid connected and off grid.
In grid connected mode, PCS achieves bidirectional energy conversion between energy storage batteries and the power grid. The main function is to perform constant power or constant current control based on microgrid monitoring instructions, charge or discharge batteries, and smooth out highly volatile outputs such as wind and photovoltaic power.
In off grid mode, PCS can provide AC power to local loads that meets the quality requirements of the power grid according to actual needs.
